Sports Injury and Rehabilitation

We offer treatments as part of a structured training programme to enhance your performance and prevent potential injuries.

Sports maintenance is beneficial as part of a pre-event warm-up by improving flexibility and increasing fitness capabilities and performance potential; allowing you to reach peak performance more efficiently and sustain it over longer periods.

It can also help as part of the essential post-event rehabilitation by treating conditions such as shin splints and muscle pulls; and speeding up the healing of damaged or overworked muscles, tendons or ligaments thus reducing recovery time and allowing you to regain your health and performance as quick as possible.

We also have rehabilitation programmes to treat pre-existing and long-term injuries:

Alan Hughes is a specialist in muscle and nerve manipulation; and works throughout the whole skeletal system treating muscles, nerves and their attachments. He has devised an innovative and extremely effective sports rehabilitation treatment with a very high success rate.

Sports Maintenance for pre-event warm-up and post-event rehabilitation, 30 minutes

Ongoing Sports Maintenance
to be used as and when needed,

Sports Rehabilitation
a longer treatment for damaged or overworked muscles,  1 hour £35

Deep Tissue Therapy for really deep persistant muscle aches and pains; also ideal for people with sensitive skin or who are very ticklish. Using a variety of massage techniques including Pressure Point Therapy and Hands Free Massage, 1 hour £35

Ongoing Deep Tissue Therapies
to be used as and when needed, a course of 5 x 1 hour

Alan Hughes is available on Mondays 12:00pm to 8pm, Wednesdays 9am to 5pm, Thursdays 9am to 5pm and Fridays from 12:00pm to 8pm.


APEX PHYSIOTHERAPY

Apex Physiotherapy provide chartered physiotherapists who specialise in musculaskeletal physiotherapy, muscles, bones, ligaments and joints.  

They can diagnose and treat problems such as pulled or torn muscles, tendons and ligaments, misalignment of joints and tightness and restricted movement in body sections and can advise on exercise and activity levels.

APEX provide physiotherapists who have experience in treating sports injuries and rehabilitation; including a PGA Golf Athlete specialist.

Physiotherapy treatments use a combination of:

  • Manual therapy
  • Electrotherapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Exercise therapy & education

Initial Consultation £35.00      Follow-up Treatments £30.00

APEX Physiotherapists are available at the Muscle & Stress Complementary Health Centre on Mondays 6:30pm to 8pm, Wednesdays 5:50pm to 8pm, Fridays 3:30pm to 8.00pm and Saturdays 9am to 3pm.
